THE COTTAGE Les Biches is a romantic and very luxurious cottage for two persons. It is quietly situated at the end of a small hamlet, on a hilly road on the edge of the woods. From the house you have a splendid view of the surrounding countryside, a view that stretches over many kilometres all the way up to the hills of the Morvan.
THE LOCATION The cottage Les Biches is quiet and freely located, but not secluded. This idyllic place is not only sought after by nature lovers and hikers because of its silence and space, it is also suitable for writing or reflecting in peace. In 2010, the house was completely renovated under architecture, while retaining original details. The house is located in the municipality of Crux-la-Ville, just outside the Morvan, between the towns of Corbigny and Prémery. View the location of the cottage Les Biches on Google Maps here.
GROUND FLOOR On the ground floor are the living room, the kitchen, a washing machine room and a toilet. The entrance is on the side, you enter the house through the kitchen. The oak staircase to the first floor is located in the living room and opens into the bedroom.
THE LIVING ROOM The living room has windows both at the front and at the rear and french doors to the front garden. The attractive space with beamed ceiling is equipped with a dining table and four chairs, a comfortable double sofa and a sheepskin armchair. In the design we searched for a combination of modern comfort and authentic details. There is a wood burning stove for pleasant warmth on chilly evenings. In the living room you find a TV with DVD player (with USB connection) and a media player with dozens of movies. There is a music installation that you can connect to your iPod or MP-3 player. On the shelves you will find (Dutch) books and CDs and DVDs which you can play. Due to the location of the house, wifi is not possible. This makes it an excellent 'white spot' for a few days of rest without internet. The network for mobile phones is excellent.
THE KITCHEN This is a bright space with two windows at the front of the house and a birch wood kitchen. While cooking, you can enjoy the view of the garden and the late afternoon sun. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, induction stove, oven, Nespresso coffee maker, kettle large and a fridge with freezer compartment. From the kitchen you have access to a toilet and to the washing machine, boiler and coat rack.
UPPER FLOOR The second floor consists of a large bedroom, a spacious bathroom with a second toilet. From the bedroom you have access to a south-facing balcony.
THE BEDROOM The stairs in the living room lead you to the upper floor, to the spacious bedroom with a romantic beamed ceiling and a light wooden floor. There are windows at the front and rear. In addition, there are French doors to a spacious balcony. The bedroom has a double box spring bed (160 x 200), two armchairs, a fitting mirror and a spacious wardrobe with beautiful old panel doors.
THE BATHROOM In the luxurious bathroom you will find a walk-in shower and a bath, from which you can enjoy the view of the backyard. The bathroom gives access to a built-in infrared sauna, where you can relax your tired muscles after a day of walking. The upper floor has a separate toilet.
THE BALCONY From the balcony you have a magnificent view of the Morvan hills. The balcony is facing south and in summer this is an ideal place to have breakfast in the morning with a cup of coffee and a fresh croissant or to enjoy the beautiful Burgundian starry sky with a glass of wine or to relax in the open air after the use of the sauna.
THE GARDEN The house is surrounded on three sides by a large garden. In front of the house is a terrace, with a teak wood dining table, chairs and a parasol. On the side of the terrace is a barbecue area. There is also a spacious lawn with lush flower borders on both sides. This part of the garden is south-facing. You are completely free here, to enjoy the sun undisturbed in one of the deck chairs. To the left of the house is a cabin with a stock of firewood for the wood stove. In the forest-like side yard and backyard you can sit in the shade under the old oak and beech trees or lie in the tall grass. In winter, deer may walk through the garden, in the spring wild orchids bloom behind the house and the nightingales sing. In autumn we find mushrooms there. From the garden you walk directly into the centuries-old forests.
